Pakistan unanimously elected as new WAIPA Regional Director for South Asia for 2025-27
Board of investment-Pakistan is elected as Regional Director of World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) for South Asian Region at WAIPA General Assembly and Steering Committee elections during 29th session of World Investment Conference 2025 in Sharjah, UAE.
Mr. Qaiser Ahmed Shaikh, Federal Minister for Investment/ B0! represented Pakistan to WAIPA General Assembly. In his speech, Mr. Shaikh, reaffrmed Pakistan BOl’s commitment at advancing collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing among IPAs worldwide, emphasizing a shared vision to promote sustainable investment and economic diversification.

The Minister added that Pakistan as a member of WAIPA, willhave opportunity to network with other Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs) from around the world, share experiences & knowledge, access to global best practices & research resources to enhance its investment promotion and facilitation efforts.
He reaffirmed that the country’s commitment to attracting foreign investment while working closely with WAIPA and other member countries will help achieve the goal of sustainable and resilient investment.
Ali Zeb Khan, Trade & Investment Counsellor Pakistan Consulate Dubai, during side-line of the event arranged bilateral meetings of the Minister with Chairman Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, CEO of Sharjah Research Technology, and Innovation Park (SRTIP), Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) and Pakistan Business Council Sharjah for deepening economic cooperation and attracting FDI in Pakistan.
The Federal Minister met H.H Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi and Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi who were the chief guest of the event. H.E. Dr Thani Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, senior officials of UAE Ministry of Investment were present on the opening ceremony.
His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah,in the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), officially inaugurated the 8th Sharjah Investment Forum (SIF 2025) during a ceremony held at the Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre Sharjah.
